For more than 15 years, Olivia de Bona has been developing a poetic lexicon made up of images that combine her personal imagination with collective imagery and that she declines according to the supports and materials that her creative curiosity makes her encounter.
A graduate in Applied Arts and Animation in 2005, Olivia de Bona quickly got rid of digital media to satisfy her interest in artisanal know-how; she has never ceased to enrich her technical palette to better express her art. Unable to dissociate the work from its support, she considers each achievement as a whole and it is often a technical curiosity that inspires her with a new project.
If the technical mastery of Olivia de Bona sublimates her figurative universe, it is in the thematic recurrence and the serial presentation that she attaches herself more strongly to the narrative aspect of her work, thus touching on the tale and the respondent. Nature, animals, dreams, the nude, women, hair are all leitmotivs that allow him to structure his artistic mythology and lose himself in the representation of the material that is so dear to him. Thus, each of his creations is apprehended in two stages: first comes the emotion aroused by the dreamlike nature of his compositions, then the analysis of the complexity of the details resulting from his monomania of the line.
