Bom.K - Monograph "A Flower of Flesh"
Monograph A FLEUR DE CHAIR by Bom.K
A key figure in urban art, Bom.K is recognized worldwide for his virtuoso mastery of the spray can. Thanks to a style of astonishing surgical precision, he depicts the living and the flesh with a disturbing realism to bring out often monstrous subjects on the walls or canvases. In order to pay homage to him and his undeniable influence on contemporary French urban art, Galerie Joël Knafo produces and publishes A FLEUR DE CHAIR.
Impressive monograph of more than 150 pages, the book looks back on the 30 years of artistic career of the graffiti artist from Vigneux-sur-Seine, captured on camera by Bom.K himself or by photographer Nicolas Gzeley. This book is also an opportunity to discover the man behind the pseudonym, through the words of different people close to the artist's work. BomK.
More than a simple collection of images, A FLEUR DE CHAIR also gives pride of place to words, both in French and in English, due to the international dimension of the artist. The monograph gives the pen to the journalist Laura Audibert , to the art historian Cyrille Gouyette as well as to the artist and long-time friend Sowat (also a member of the DMV ). Texts therefore, to return to decades of hard work, to describe the technique and the privileged themes founding all the work of Bom.K. But above all, texts so that the reader can touch the fingertip of the man behind the artist, the one whose pseudonym we only know and whose face hardly ever appears.
