Levalet - Comic illusions

DescriptionThrough staging between trompe-l'oeil and comic strip, Levalet has fun surprising passers-by by reinventing the history of the place. In a language more inspired by theater than graffiti, the street artist gives life to characters engaging in offbeat, even incongruous actions. His works, imbued with humour, playfulness and poetry, encourage the viewer to better observe neglected urban spaces and to take a step back from the failings of his daily life. In Paris, Barcelona or Bologna, the street becomes the scene of drawn compositions whose feigned realism alternates between mise en abyme of the life of modern man and jubilant fable.
