Madame gives herself up
Hartpon editions have designed with Madame a first generous and abundant monograph, composed like a treasure hunt with multiple entries.
A book that allows you to discover the artist's work, but also to understand his creative process and enter his imagination.
An abundant monograph
Collage from period documents and poetry are Madame's favorite fields, as are jokes and provocation mixed with a touch of extravagance.
Madame se livre is a monograph articulated around a series of “narrative” visual sequences . Embracing many facets of the artist's work, it offers a journey full of ricochets.
We thus find the same work through several pages, in different forms, in order to reveal the singular magic of Madame's work.
To navigate, a set of pictograms invites you through the pages to circulate randomly.
The contents of the book
Divided into three main parts [ STONE , LEAF , SCISSORS ], the work takes us from Madame's studio to the gallery, from the gallery to the street.
— Around 350 color photographs , combining original pieces, street collages, installations, portraits and studio photos taken between 2009 and 2019.
— An unpublished interview orchestrated by researcher Karen Brunel-Lafargue , Doctor of Art Science, sheds light on the artist's work in a playful and intimate tone. Divided into different sections throughout the work, it constitutes a succession of zones of calm, of retreat, where the artist grants himself time for analysis and reflection on his own approach.
— A glossary of forms closes the book and is offered to readers as a playful support intended to be cut out, but also as an additional key to understanding the artist's work and style.
cover: a “tailor-made cover”
Taking up this idea of "layers" and multiple meanings, the cover of the book produced on raw cardboard offers a game of superposition of 3 jackets , produced by the artist, which transforms the book into a real object, both art and fun.
