From the end of the 1960s, the Italians flooded the kiosks with thousands of comics in pocket format and cheap. In France, they are translated by Elvifrance, to the chagrin of censorship. But this one is no match for Lucifera, Jungla, Jacula, Sam Bot's priapic bespectacled, Zara the vampire, the troopers obsessed with Salvation, the thugs, the libidinous extraterrestrials, the demons and the ghosts of the horror series and the monster nerve of its publisher, which is developing its own distribution network. "Pleasure for all budgets," he says. Until 1992, it provided monthly sex, gossip and thrills, relentlessly stroking the bad impulses of its readership. Cuckoldry, torture, square parties, galloping nymphomania, necrophilia, fetishisms and sadomasochism: Elvifrance is an incredible reservoir of fantasies, witness to a permissive period that did not care much about good taste and propriety.
